august20 - wow! i am soooo lucky! i just got back from a crazy-attack-fun trip! okay, so basically, some people from my school kidnapped me at like 7:00 AM on friday, and drove me and bout 40 other seniors from my class out to tennessee! what in the world!? so then we got there after like 13 hours and rally-tastically drove our huge vans up some mountains. we got to this big house-size chalet (lodge thing) and we thought we would all be staying there. then they said we'd be staying in separate "cabins" and we thought like "little boxes with cheap bunk beds," but when we finally drove out to my group's cabin, it was FREAKING HUGE! like bigger than my HOUSE! we opened the door, walked through, looked around, found the screened in back-porch, large tv-system thing, and hot tub set at 104. needless to say the hot tub got a lot of use that night. so, the next day we drove out to pigeon forge and went to a dinner show called "dixie stampede," which is, i suppose, part of the infamous "dollywood," the dolly parton theme-park thing! it was actually pretty fun, they give you lots of food and you get to watch trick-riding and other weird country entertainment. so, then we went around the main street and go-karted for like 2 hours. then we happened upon this HUGE crowd of people watching some sort of stage thing. it turned out to be one of those crazy hydraulic-operated bullride things! so me and a couple other guys bought tickets for it and rode it in front of like a couple-hundred people! it was sooo fun! if there's any way i can put the video up for d/l'ing i will, k? ok, so then we went back to our huge entertainment-unit chalet thing and watched black hawk down, which is quite a good movie, actually. after which we got to sleep for several hours before heading off again the next day to gatlinburg. the first thing we did was go up this hanging cable-car thing to a higher place in the mountains. then, we tried to go on this cement slide thing you ride with sleds (weird, yes), but it closed on account of 3 seconds of rain. but, still in super-happy-fun mode, we found something else to do: !!!!MOUNTAINTOP GO-KARTING!!!!- i swear these things had NO rev limiters or ANYTHING! it was SWEET! we were SIDEWAYS going through EVERY turn on the course! it was great. brakes completely locked up half the time. haha! so, after that we went back down to gatlinburg to eat and look around. i bought a bag of incense sticks and my friend bought some spongebob wristbands. then we went back to pigeon forge and happened upon a HUGE outlet mall there. we wandered around for awhile, basically keeling over every time the girls that worked at the stores would talk to us with their ultra-cute southern drawl. when we ran out of girls to listen to, we found this weird little music store that was actually VERY good! (ok, for this next part you have to understand that i NEVER buy cds, i have COUNTLESS burned cds, but maybe 5 bought ones) so, i went in and BOUGHT the new oakenfold cd, which, by the way, is SUPER-AMAZING!!! (and totally worth it)!!! and a paul van dyk remix package called "the politics of dancing," which is also VERY good. so, basically the only thing we did after that was go back to our chalet and sit in the hot tub and burn lots of opium-flavor incense sticks. (i bet the tennessee police will be all over us in a couple days) haha! well, overall, i was a great trip and a great way to end the summer! now i'm off to school, i'm just finishing this update after going shopping. (why did they change "structure" into "express men" ??? makes no sense...) well, okay, i'll try to update soon again, thanks for reading!!! peace-units!

june22 - well, i'm back from my weeklong backpacking trip, the one i bought a NEW BACKPACK for! i was up at isle royale for 5 WHOLE DAYS. first, we had to drive up to copper harbor, the town closest to the island. that took about 12 hours. basically, all of copper harbor is gift shops and trailers and nascar stickers. then, we stayed in a tiny cabin and watched our last tv for a week. we woke up the next morning and got on the boat to take us to the island. the trip was really smooth and took about 4 and 1/2 hours. when we got to the island, we found out that our "water taxi" thing couldn't take us out to where we wanted to go on the island! so, we were mad and changed our entire plans. we ended up doing about 10 miles per day. which is far by any backpacking standards, but especially here, cause it's all uphill or downhill and it's ALL rocks. so we were tired every day, but i'll just kind of highlight the highlights of the time we were there:

-super amazing views-

-really cool people-

-fishing-

-sleeping on docks-

-getting things stolen by foxes-

-running out of water and pumping water out of a puddle-

-catching a 4 inch leech-

-tastylicious freeze dried food-

and a lotta other stuff, but i can't remember everything. so, then we get back to the final dock, eat the best cheeseburgers we ever had, and take off on the boat. there are 3-5 FOOT WAVES! 10 minutes into the trip, half the people on the boat were puking over the side railings. and it's not like it was nice outside, either. the wind off of lake superior is SUPERCOLD! so, some of these people stood out there for like 4 HOURS! geez, isn't that terrible!? i felt sorry for em, but i just slept most of the time. the constant rocking didn't really bother me. so, then we get back to copper harbor, drive for a few hours, i'm resting in the backseat of the car while we're driving back home and BAM! the entire car SHAKES, PRESSURIZES, FILLS WITH SMOKE, and SWERVES OFF THE ROAD! we hit some stupid deer running across the road. we were prolly going 70 or something! so, of course i don't know we hit a deer, i'm thinking the engine's on fire or something, cause the entire car's filled with smoke, so i pop my seatbelt off, open the door while we're still moving, and when we finally jolt to a stop, i jump out and run about 20 feet from the car. the engine's not on fire, i look in and it's just some CO2 from the airbags or something. so, everyone's shaking and our driver's got several bleeding bruises on his arms, but everyone else is generally ok. EVERYONE on the whole road pulls over to see if we're ok, and then we talk to the cops and wait around and get a tow truck, get a rental car, then try to get back on the road. the whole time i'm thanking God for saving my arse. it coulda been a lot worse than that, the airbags actually kept the deer from going through the windshield! so, that was my adventure, i'm back now, i'm ok, and i'm getting ready to start my glamorous new job as a pool cashier. it's great to be back! gimme an email!
