~ The Yahoo! Challenge ~
Jerri got her just desserts and was finally voted off, restoring my confidence that the show is not "fixed". A few people were willing to risk it all and bet 100 points on Jerri. Therefore, the standings changed dramatically this week. Here are the standings after week nine:
Things are starting to get rough in the Outback with bad water, bad fishing, bad hair days...but I digress. This week's reward challenge consisted of an obstacle course in which each guy was paired up with a girl. This paring was done by name draw (to be "fair"). The couple winning the challenge would be taken to the Great Barrier Reef for a little getaway. Jerri and Colby won this challenge which Jerri thought was a great "first date." Colby was quick to point out it was just a day off from the game for him.
With the next immunity challenge looming, Nick realized it was do or die for him, figuring to be the next Kucha casualty. In a unique game of tug-o-war, Nick did in fact prevail and won immunity. The remaining Ogakor tribe members were thwarted and felt they had to vote Elisabeth off. Elisabeth would have none of it and lobbied for her own self-preservation. Since Ogakor had a two-man advantage (5-3), the timing was right to sacrifice Jerri and restore peace to the land of the Outback. Jerri was voted out with a convincing 6-2 vote. The wicked witch of the west is gone.
