In Manhattan , he established Kerry Collins Computer Center and Classroom at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine. For this purpose he raised $57,000 of his own and $43,000 from commercial contributions. In 2002, he publicly announced that for the overhauling of the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation, he will contribute a minimum of $500,000 over the next 3 years which will entirely repair the 32-bed Pediatric In-Patient Unit within the NYU Hospital .
