I thought it might be fun to write about my experiences in fansubbing.  Plus I wanted an excuse to show off pictures that I took of my collection.

History

Once there was this production in Japan called Musical Sailor Moon.  It was a wonderful live show with great story, actresses, characters, and music and dancing.  However, most of us fans outside Japan were not of the Japanese speaking nature and were not always able to follow the story.  So, around 2001 I began translating Sera Myu (Sailor Musical), thus beginning my step into the world of fansubbing.

During that time I found the live Hunter X Hunter musical and subbed that as well.

Somewhere along the line, I became interested in tokusatsu (Japanese SFX shows).  So in 2003 I started translating tokusatsu shows.

Well, can't translate unless you have something to translate off of.  So, one of the hardest parts was the actual acquirement of raw tapes/lds/dvds.
