                Evening music, and gathering in a large cabin.   Bring a cup or mug and 
                some slides of your work!   Workshop cost:  $40.00 /  $20.00 Student

Sunday, September 14

                "Kentucky Clay" One Day Juried Sale  
               
10:00-5:00 in the Multi purpose building

Indoor juried sale with minimum set up for artists. A six foot table and cloth with two 
chairs will be provided each exhibitor. Continuous clay demonstrations by KCN 
members with public participation will be a feature of the sales day. 
A Kentucky Clay Network member group booth will be an alternative option. Booth 
spaces are $75.00 and $50.00 for KCN members. This event will be juried by 
Betty Talbott of Ohio Designer Craftsmen and the Ohio Craft Museum. Entry 
applications for the sales event can be downloaded form this site.

Entry postmark deadline June 7 
Apply with four slides, $5.00, entry form and SASE.

Public tickets at this event - $3.00 for adults, $1.00 for children and seniors.  
We suggest that you register early for this workshop. The park is offering a 
10% discount on lodging during this event. Mention the Kentucky Clay Network 
when reserving a room. 

KENTUCKY CLAY NETWORK 
EDUCATIONAL DEMONSTRATIONS

          Kentucky Guild of Artists & Craftsmen - Spring Fair

             May 16-18   -   Berea, Kentucky

We will demonstrate throwing pots and handbuilding techniques for the public at the 
Spring Kentucky Guild Fair in Berea, Kentucky. We will bring wheels, tables, and clay. 
If you would like to bring your tools
and sign up for a two hour time slot to demonstrate 
call Bill Whitt at 859/ 369-5084 to sign up. The fair hours are Friday, May 16th from 
10:00-5:00   Saturday, May 17th from 10:000-6:00, and Sunday from 10:00-5:00. 
You could bring a piece to carve or decorate as well. Come and join us for our 
educational outreach and for a good time together!

We have direct mailed this brochure to everyone on our data base

We have membership cards and business cards available to all members

We also mailed brochures to a targeted list of clay folks in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, 
West Virginia, Tennessee and Virginia. If you would like some brochures or know 
of a good place to have them distributed let Gwen know at 859/ 986-1096. 
These brochures were taken to the CODA conference in Pittsburgh and to the 
Functional Ceramics Workshop in Wooster, Ohio, April 10-12. They will 
be handed out at the Kentucky Guild of Artists & Craftsmen Spring Fair, 
on May 16-18, in Berea. We will be demonstrating making pots and sculpting 
and promoting the KCN to anyone who passes by! Come demonstrate and 
pass out brochures!


GRANT UPDATE

KENTUCKY ARTS COUNCIL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GRANT
We are happy to announce that we got approved for a $1,000 Community Development 
Grant through the Kentucky Arts Council! We will receive the money in July for fiscal year 2003-2004. This Community Development Grant is a five year grant, that is applied 
for yearly. It affords financial support for beginning organizations in increasing amounts 
each year.

At this meeting we will be lining out jobs for the Kentucky Clay Weekend at
Cumberland Falls State Park in September. We will also be working on some 
of the 501-C3 stuff and distributing brochures.
