We've also been in the Saskatoon Exhibition Parade!

The first two photos are from the water hazard in Section 'E' of the 1997 High Country Combined Driving Event in Calgary, Alberta.
|
The High Country CDE is an annual event with international
participation and some of the best hazards and cones courses you're
likely to come across.

This is a photo of Romeo standing (uncharacteristically) still following Dressage at the High Country CDE. The groom standing in front of him is his "Mom", and owner of Ebon Stables, Elaine Partington.
| Much of the praise for Romeo's accomplishments belongs with Terry Partington, who originally taught Romeo to drive and got me into the sport. | ||
| Somehow, we managed to get selected for publication in the October '97 issue of Prairie Horse magazine. |

This somewhat grainy photo shows Romeo negotiating a steep decline in another hazard at the '97 High Country CDE.

Here we are braving another cold Saskatchewan winter, and Romeo making his '98 gift requests. |

| I also tried driving pairs once in '97. These two are named Wonder and Ruby, both Thoroughbreds with heart to spare. The photo was taken at the ACDA East/West Chapter CDE in Lloydminster. I didn't do so well in this competition, but hey, you gotta start somewhere. |

Now, if you're lucky, you can see us on TV! Watch the Discovery Channel for a program called World of Horses with John Scott - The Driving Horse. They shot their footage during the '98 High Country CDE, and Romeo gets quite a bit of exposure. You can even see me just about leave the cart while negotiating the water hazard!
As well, while down taking some round pen lessons with Chris Irwin, I happened to meet up with another Paint with coloring similar to Romeo. The horse's name was Robin, and his owner is Lexy. Here's a group photo we took.
