Maine 1993 Handicap issue. After the last batch of the 123A format plates exhaused, the state did same thing with handicapped plates like they did with passenger plates and started with AA, BB, CC etc. I still would like to know why they chose this. As you can see that lasted for a little bit...
Maine 1995 Handicap issue. Well since the "AA thru ZZ held them for a little bit they smartened up and restarted at AB, AC, AD etc. That held them again for a little while. The AZ series would be the last letter series.
Maine 1999 Handicap issue. After the state stoped the last series at "AZ" the state got their new number dies and wisely picked up at 10000 after 9999 was reached on the black and white plates in the 1980's. The series lasted through the 20000's before the end of the lobster plates.
Maine 2000 Handicap issue. Starting in 1999 the lobster plate was replace by the chickadee plate. The series picked up I believe at the 30000 series. The state is currently up to the 57000 series.
Maine 2000 Handicap Motor Home issue. Here's another of those hard to find plates. These plate have only been out a few years. Therefore not many of these are hanging around. No sooner did they come out they were replaced by the chickadee plates. The state also issues Handicap Loon and Handicap Motorcycle plates.
