In The Belly Of A Fish

(brief intro)

Arise and go to Nineveh,
And tell them to repent!
But Jonah refused to listen to GOD
As down to Joppa, he went!
(last line is played)

He boarded a ship to Tarshish,
This is where he would go!
But by him disobeying GOD,
Strong winds began to blow!
(last line is played)

The ship was near sinking,
And Jonah was to blame!
So he asked the men to heave him overboard
That they need not die in vain!
(last line is played)

They feared the GOD of Jonah,
But they did what he asked!
And as he was tossed out of the ship,
The sea became calm at last!
(last line is played)

As GOD had planned the winds to blow,
And caused the sea to roll!
He also had a fish in mind
To swallow Jonah whole!
(last line is played)

For three days and three nights
Inside the fish he'd stay!
And then he'd go to Nineveh,
He'd think of GOD and pray!
(last line is played)

He was tossed to and fro in the belly of a fish,
He cried unto GOD I will do as you wish!
For three days and nights I haven't slept a wink,
But for sure I'll go to Nineveh,
Whatever You think! Whatever You think!
(pause)

And again the Word of the LORD
Was heard in Jonah's ear!
"Arise, and go to Nineveh,
And preach, time draweth near!"
(last line is played)

Unless they repent and turn to Me,
And forget their evil ways,
They'll become like Sodom and Gommorrah!
They've got just forty days!
(last line is played)

So Jonah went into Nineveh,
And told them all the news!
Why the people, they all repented,
And then Jonah got the blues!
(last line is played)

Yes, GOD forgave Nineveh
Of all their evil deeds!
It sure upset poor Jonah,
But GOD knew their needs!
(last line is played)

He was tossed to and fro in the belly of a fish,
He cried unto GOD I will do as you wish!
For three days and nights I haven't slept a wink,
But for sure I'll go to Nineveh,
Whatever You think! Whatever You think!
(pause)
