13. Robert³ Purdon (William², Robert¹) (#7) was born in Dalhousie Township, On June 29, 1836. Robert died March 20, 1910 in Wingham, Huron, On, at 73 years of age. His body was interred in Wingham, Huron, On.

He married twice. He married Betsy Thom in Dalhousie Township, On, February 19, 1858. (Betsy Thom is #8.) Betsy was born in Scotland January 1839. Betsy was the daughter of William Thom and Jennet Turnbull. Betsy died February 13, 1863 in Lanark County, On, at 24 years of age. Her body was interred in Lanark County, On. He married Jane Thom in Lanark, On, May 28, 1869. (Jane Thom is #11.) Jane was born in Lanark, On May 28, 1851. Jane was the daughter of William Thom and Jennet Turnbull. Jane died February 21, 1930 at 78 years of age. Her body was interred in Wingham, Huron, On.

Robert Purdon and Betsy Thom had the following children:

63 i. Mary Janet⁴ Purdon (#12) was born in Lanark, On January 1859. Mary died October 24, 1879 in West Wawanash Twp., Huron, On, at 20 years of age. Her body was interred in St. Helen's, On.

+ 64 ii. William Purdon was born September 12, 1861.

+ 65 iii. Betsy Thom Purdon was born January 30, 1863.

Robert Purdon and Jane Thom had the following children:

+ 66 iv. Robert Henry Purdon was born July 10, 1872.

+ 67 v. James Chalmers Purdon was born June 10, 1875.

+ 68 vi. Alexander Edward Purdon was born May 4, 1879.

+ 69 vii. Isabella Jane Purdon was born July 7, 1884.

+ 70 viii. Myrtle Mary Purdon was born March 3, 1886.
