I have a great deal of respect for those who are able to use words to accomplish their goals through the actions of others.  People like Martin Luther King, Jr. or Gallagher win the respect of friends with their thoughts and the way they are expressed.

Non-Fiction:
"Frankly, Scarlet"   Published in the Syracuse New Times, this is a piece of music journalism about a great young band. In addition to telling some of their story, I tried to make it a piece of music criticism as well.

A Commencement to Remember    Online Journal published this piece, a bit of nonfiction about the intragenerational conflict that arose during my Commencement.

"Open Mike Warriors"   Published in Shecky Magazine, the best online magazine about standup comedy.  This piece is about me starting standup.

"The Five Stages of a Writing Workshop"   Published by Bewildering Stories, a digital hotspot for speculative fiction and related issues. I have a long and proud involvement with writing workshops, and I am happy to share what knowledge I have on the topic.

"Review of debut issue of Knockout, a poetry journal"   Published by NewPages, the best place on the Internet for information about current literary journals.

"Comedy Off the Cuff"  Published in the Syracuse New Times.  This is a journalistic article about two young men and their improv class.
