THE
INHUMAN CRIME
Enron?
Tyco? These scandals are minuscule when compared to all else thriving in
the offices of corporate America. In fact, they are no match for the
scandals in Wall Street, heath-care and education. Yet businessmen receive
massive bailouts and bonuses. Curiously, as the profits of these scoundrels reach all-time highs, overall student scores
plummet. Thus, not surprisingly, far too many undergraduates cannot
locate Afghanistan on a map, expand upon world history, science, music or art, beyond that of the pop and reality-TV-cultures.
However, in truth, these
conditions are the result of a calculated scheme, a highly successful
stratagem, a circumstance, which
rather sadly, proves that ignorance is
profitable.
THE VILLAIN
Step one in the immoral
process, dumb-down the populace. Bombard the masses with pseudo-news programmes,
mindless trivia and
celebrity gossip. Step two, provide that great flock with endless
options of cheap, fast, processed food. That's right, malnourish mind and body, and
supreme power is yours, at least that's the view of Sherlock Holmes'
latest villain. But is it too late? Can the horror be stopped?
Is the Red State plague (RSP)
the great pestilence that will finally erode the American fabric? Or
can Holmes, with his stunning powers of deduction, find the culprit, a
ruthless culture-thief, and rescue the US?
