| Darby and Art: (The Story) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| This is the story of Darby and Art. (Please feel free to use this story to amaze your friends) There are a few things that you need to make sure of before you begin this particular story. First of all you need to have a deck of playing cards arranged in the proper order to tell this story. If you have not already done so, and do not know the order of the card layout, click here for the | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| The key to this story is to make it look like you're making it up as you go. (Practice will get you used to saying this story) Once you are familiar with it, you can ad lib more with it. The story below is just a suggestion of how to tell this, you can make modifications to it that will help you along. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Throughout this story, you will be having people cut the deck. It is important to the continuity of the story and for you to be able to tell this story in its entirety that you pay attention to a few simple things: Never shuffle the deck after it has been arranged for the telling of the story. When you have a spectator cut the deck, they should only make a single ut. Always pay attention to where the spectator places the top half of the deck. (This will now become the bottom of the deck.) Some spectators may not know that they should cut the deck towards you. As you tell this story, make it look like you are making it up as you go. (This will amaze your friends a lot more if they don't know that the deck has already been arranged ahead of time) If you know other card tricks, you should have an identical deck to the one that you have set up for the story. (It's not as much fun if you sit and arrange the deck in front of the crowd) |
||||||||||||||||||||||
| Through out this story, you will have to turn over cards to expose them as they coincide with the story. (As you progress, you will see instructions to turn over varied amounts of cards or take some action with the deck) You will see the story in bold text, and the instructions will be normal italic text. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Later in the text, you will see a note for a that section to be rapid fire of turning over of cards. (I will not attempt to put each of those instructions in) As you get used to this story, you will begin to get used to what actions take place at specific times. I have a page that has only the story for those who are used to the actions here. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
