Fifty, count 'em, fifty was published in a SABR Research Journal. It's a breezy listing and characterization of the achievement of hitting 50 homers in a season. That was still a big deal ... in 1995. I presented this at the Casey Stengel SABR Regional in 1996. The Best Home Run Hitter of All Time is pretty interesting but I failed to develop a coherent method for comparing players across eras. It builds on my article Fifty and by my attempt at a book Sixty. The anecdotal stuff is great. The Yankees have not been no-hit since 1958. Why? was published in an abridged form on the yankeeXtreme web site. In the summer of 2000 I presented it at the Vermont SABR Super Regional.
