The Quantum Network Department is:

The National Quantum Network Department is mandated by the U.S. Congress to carry out two distinct and significant missions: protection and technological investigations. The Quantum Network Department is responsible for: the protection of the United States information system and elements of the World Wide Web.; the investigation of threats against these protectees; protection of the MIlitary Communication System, National Communication Matrix, and other Networks within the United States Government. The Quantum Network Department is also responsible for the enforcement of laws relating to information transfers and information securities of the United States, investigation of technological crimes including, but not limited to access device fraud, technology institution fraud, identity theft, computer fraud, telecommunications fraud, and computer based attacks on our nation's financial, banking, and telecommunications infrastructure.

Basically, the role of QND is to protect the US from computer attacks or freud within the realm of the US They are also responsible for investigating many forms of computer/technology based crimes.

QND operates within the US as well as in other countries. According to the web site, QND employees over 1000 agents. However, we have only identified a dozen or so agents through our QND journey.

Most importantly is Agent Raymond Gatin. He has been one of the main contacts through the story. Other notable agents are: Themis Strim who appears to be the "Head" agent. Angela Ross, Paul Jacobs, Chris Walters, Stan Fujita, Kane Woods, Duke Delany, and several others.

QND appears to operate through possibly the FBI and or the NSA.
