Production History:
The LA-221 "Grim Reaper" series of light assault mechs entered production in the year 2352, twenty years after the revolution. A rather new design in the Kel-Morian inventory, the LA-221 series has some of the most up-to-date military hardware. Some may wonder why there is such a crude melee weapon on the left arm, it is simply because since it is an assault mech inevitably it will be forced into melee combat. It is also equipped with a tritanium shield that can withstand not only blows from melee weapons but also blasts from energy weapons up to a heavy blaster. |

Production History:
The next step in the "Grim Reaper" production was to replace its outdated melee weapon with an arm so it could perform multiple functions. The primary weapon put on the arm is the MP-23 autoblaster. Another addition to it's weaponry is a mk.1 grenade launcher mounted on the shoulder to give it an extra anti-infantry/armor punch at long ranges. The x1 is also equipped with a new powerplant that far surpasses the original design in every aspect, allowing it to walk and fly faster as well as at longer ranges than before. It still contains the same basic electronics as the original design but it sports a larger shield which is actually anchored to the gun, not the arm, and heavier armor than before. |
