Ah! Hampton Wick! This little village is situated on the S.W. outskirts of London, England. It is from here that Eisenhower mounted the D-Day landings against the German forces in Normandy, France. The plans of the following men and their staffs, conceived at Camp Griffiss, the Strategic Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force camp, in this quiet spot, were destined to secure the future of the free world:-

General Eisenhower - Air-Marshal Tedder - Admiral Bertram Ramsey - General Montgomery - Air-Chief-Marshal Leigh-Mallory.

Across the river Thames is situated Kingston-Upon-Thames, where seven Saxon kings of England were crowned:-

Edward The Elder - Athelstan - Edmund - Edred - Edwy - Edward The Martyr - Ethelred The Unready.

In Kingston, fighting aircraft of both World Wars and after, were designed and built, including:-

The Sopwith Camel - The Hawker Hurricane - The Hawker Harrier, jump jet.
