Match Reports 05/06
9/5/06 Keighley Athletic 2 Three Horses 1
Athletic completed a disappointing season with a win against the Horses which should have been much more comfortable if not for the heroics of the Horses keeper. Tom Whitwham and Rob Wall got the goals. Roll on Dublin.

2/5/06 Keighley Utd 6 Keighley Athletic 3
One game too many as we  tired and eventually lost comfortably. After talking a two goal lead through Rob Wall and Stew Nicholson things looked good but in the second half we were overrun despite Al Familio pulling us level at one stage.

27/4/06 Bingley Town 0 Keighley Athletic 6
A decent performance to secure our safety from relegation. Steve Kernan bagged four and Al Familio two.

18/4/06 Keighley Athletic 1 AC Victoria 3
Better, but Rob Walls early goal was not enough.

9/4/06 AC Victoria 7 Keighley Athletic 0
Oh dear. Humiliatation in the mud. They were very good and we were rubbish.

26/3/06 Keighley Athletic 1  Three Horses 2
Lots of players out but god alone knows how we lost this one. The Horses keeper had a blinder, Stew Nicholson played up front and scored!

19/3/06 Keighley Athletic 7 New Variety Club 4
Athletic eventually came out on top in this eleven-goal thriller. After Variety opened the scoring Athletic hit back and goals from Jamie Caulfield(2) and Alex Familio gave the home side a 3-1 half-time lead. Caulfield soon completed his hat-trick with a well taken third as the goals continued to flow at both end with all-out attack being the order of the day. Prolific Athletic hit-man Steve Kernan also bagged a couple of crackers and man-of-the match Tom Whitwham completed the scoring.

26/2/06 Keighley Athletic 0 Stanbury 4
For over half of this game there was little between current league champions Athletic and champions-elect Stanbury. That changed at the start of the second half as Dave Armstrong swept Stanbury into the lead. Andy King soon doubled the advantage and late in the game as Athletic piled forward hopefully, Armstrong went on to complete his hat-trick and give the score a slightly flattering look.

Rob Wall was Athletic man of the match, Rob Andrew for Stanbury.

19/2/06 Silsden 2 Keighley Athletic 0
This was a hard-fought cup tie, with Athletic giving their all against high-flyers Silsden. The visitors starter the brighter, harrying the Silsden defence and creating opportunities. As the half wore on Silsden began to come more into the game and had several chances before James Gill's shot took a wicked deflection to beat Heath Maddocks in the Athletic goal.

Athletic were not downcast and dominated the early part of the second half: Foulger making several impressive saves including the one which proved crucial as he acrobatically turned away Steve Kernan's penalty after Paul Goodwin had been upended. Minutes later Silsden broke quickly and Alex Familio handled on the line. The sending-off which followed was as inevitable as the penalty decision and Gill made no mistake from the spot. Undaunted, the ten men of Athletic battled gamely through the second-half and continued to create chances right up to the final whistle.

12/2/06 Keighley Athletic 7 Eastwood Tavern 2
Athletic comfortably disposed of strugglers Tavern in the Marley mud. Goals came thick and fast from Steve Kernan(3), Alex Familio(2), Paul Goodwin and Jamie Caulfield with Keith Spence bagging two for the Tav.
