What You Can Do To Help.
Although a match for Travis was found (see story)
many challenges remain, from finding a potential back- up donor (just in
case) to the financial burdens caused by this situation. Below are some
of the things you can do either for Travis or some other child in a similar
situation.

Team In Training is the largest endurance training program in the United States. We provide you with the coaching, training and even the travel opportunities to make your athletic goals a reality. It's an unbeatable offer with great personal rewards. What's the deal? In exchange for the training and support, you raise money towards a cure for leukemia - the number one disease-killer of children under 15, and lymphoma, the leading killer of men and women under 35.
Join the more than 30,000 runners, walkers and cyclists who will participate in the world's major marathons and centuries this year on behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Team In Training has raised millions of dollars toward finding cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma.

yourself tested to see if you are a match.

The test for this gift of life requires the simple donation of a small
blood sample from your arm.
You will also be included in the National
Bone Marrow Registry. All donor centers operate differently concerning
getting involved in the program by getting tested. To find a center near
you, call the National Marrow Donor Program at 1-800-654-1247 or Click Here to find
the nearest center online.
Contact your local center and they will advise you in every regard
including:
- How to register as a donor .
- Where to go to get tested.
- How to set up a Marrow Drive.
- How to get funding for your drive
They may already have a drive set up and you can join efforts.Contact
corporations in your area who may be willing to support a marrow drive (by
covering the charge for tissue typing for their employees, etc.)
