The Keepers

This part of the sight is dedicated to all the Keepers. As not all the Keepers have been introduced in the books that have been planned, or are being written, then only those Keepers who are in the books will appear here. As the list of books grow in number, so will the number of Keeper on this page grow.

Current Books, in order of creation:
The Quester - Three girls, Amber, Michelle, and Christine, just happen to be at the right place at the right time when a pair of powerful beings show up and take the three to places they never thought existed. However, little do any of them know the true depth of this adventure.
Introduction to the Keepers - A collection of short stories from different time periods in the history of the Keepers.
Of Venom and Antidote - Told from Venus's point of view, this young Keeper is just coming into his powers and now, he must put them to the test to save Earth and the Raptor from Venom.
Of Mouse and Mayhem - This book is about an adventure that Tech and Mouse embark on to stop on of Venom's plans.
The Virtuosos - This book takes place before Venom was executed. The Raptor takes the form of the villain here as she leads a small group of the Keepers to kill a race of humans known as Virtuosos in order to preserve the Keepers as the protectors of the Earth.

Status of the Books:
This is another matter all together. Only two books are officially finished. The Quester being one and Of Venom and Antidote being the second. The short story book, Introduction to the Keepers is a work in progress. I probably will not finish this book for a long time, though it already has many short stories in it. Of Mouse and Mayhem is my current project, though it may take me a year or two to finish, if I follow the same pace I did with the previous two books.

I've changed my format of how I'm going to do these books.  I'm making The Quester longer, and hopefully good enough to serve as the first book.  Then the book will go forward in time with Of Venom and Antidote. Following this, will come Of Mouse and Mayhem and then a jump back in time with another book not yet name and still in planning phase.  It'll be basically what I wanted to accomplish with the Keeper Comics, but was never able to.  I'm going to go back, way back, and pick up with how the Keepers all started.  The book, The Virtuosos, will wait for another time. Confusing, but with the way the information is lined up in the books, it works out nicely (I hope).

General Information
Yes, the Keepers are immortal. No, they aren't Gods and they most certainly aren't perfect immortals. Their immortality comes from a complicated process, all of which I'm still working on, involving their DNA. Basically, they can heal from all wounds, don't get sick, and don't age. They can die, though it is difficult to do such.

The Keepers job is to protect objects known as Quester stones (you'll find more on that under the Quester page) and they have all been given different powers to achieve this goal. The Keepers have different views of how they should protect these stones, but, in the end, they are all devoted to this objects. Why? Well, given that the balance of everything rests in the fate of these Questers, I would think that protecting them might be a good idea.

Okay, so the whole 'stop the destruction of the dimension' sort of thing has been before, but that isn't what most of the stories of the Keepers involve. It's more like a trial to reach a greater end point. This point will come, but not before many trials of both good and evil beings are completed.

Oh, as a little side thought.  There are only twenty-five Keepers.  A good number is listed below, but a few are missing.  I'll fill them in as they appear in books.

The Raptor - First appearance: The Quester
She is perhaps the most hated and the most loved of all the Keepers. Her cruelty over the galaxy and in other dimensions as earned her many hateful names, but her kindness and loyalty to her friends has earned her the title of Goddess on several occasions. The Raptor is not a God, but she is the leader of the Keepers. Her powers are focused around that of animals. She has the ability to communicate with them and to morph into them. Although humans are classified as animals, she refused to take the ability to change into them, stating that it would only hinder her abilities with the diversity of life in the galaxy. The Raptor will suffer through many trials in her lifetime before she ever understands her reasons for existence, though that story isn't to be told yet.

Venus - First appearance: Of Venom and Antidote
Only eleven years old when he joined the Keepers, Venus is by far the most inexperienced of them all. He was found by several of the Keepers in an abandoned car in an ally of a large city. Venus's memory was lost to him prior to being found by the Keepers. This way of life is now all that he knows. The Raptor dealt with much of his training and so, Venus considers her like his mother. In fact, he often turns to her when he has problems, which is often. Venus was given the power of plants and, like the Raptor, he can understand them and change into them. Despite all of this, Venus is just under the Raptor in leadership. The reasoning behind it? He was the replacement for the original second in command, Venom.

Godlin - First appearance: The Quester
Before he joined the Keepers, Godlin real name was Author. He is Raptor's right hand man. A master at fighting with more traditional weapons, like swords and cross bolts, than guns and lasers. Prior to coming to the Keepers, Godlin carried a sword with him called Curia. The sword granted Godlin a kind of immortality, in that he will naturally live longer than normal humans. The Keepers fixed this slightly by making him a true immortal. The sword holds a power called the black lighting that Godlin can call on at will. Curia is a soul collector of great warriors. When Godlin dies, the sword will take his soul and add it to the souls it already has, then it will find a new master. After Bringer's supposed death, Godlin gained control of the black fire as well. Seldom talking, except to himself, he is normally quick and to the point with what ever he does. He dresses only in black and wears a long cloak to conceal his weapons and other items in. Godlin's eyes are green, but his left one is faded because it is blind.

Tran Rappoport - First appearance: The Quester
If Godlin is Raptor's right hand man, then Tran must be her left. A coward through and through, he will questionable follow Raptor into battle. Tran is also obsessive compulsive and somewhat superstitious in that he believes whatever someone says is true. He is known for using his of the mind to read people's thoughts so they can be predicted.  Tran, however, is limited in that he must touch this person and all he gets are images, and does not know if the thoughts are current, past, or future ideas.  He also has telekinesis and can move objects with his mind.  Provided that he can see the object and it must be under 500 pounds.  He uses his telekinetic powers to play out elaborate pranks on any he can find that fit his plan. Tran is often seen with a man known as Tech, as the two are close friends. Still, the adventures that these two get into can only be called misadventures.

Technes - First appearance: The Quester
He is the complete opposite of Godlin, but the two of them where brought up in almost the exact same way. They were both seven when they came to the Keepers and had a shifty up brings. Tech grew up in upper New York while Godlin grew up in England and both where mostly forgotten by their parents. Both of them then had almost the same personality when they came to the Keepers, but after that, they took different paths and became enemies. While Godlin chose older weapons as his mater skill, Tech chose the new age ones. Guns, laser pistols, anything that involved moving parts over cold steal. Tech’s flaw is his ego; he can’t get enough of it. He often attributes every good thing that happens in the Keepers to himself and the bad to another like Raptor or Godlin. Tech also believes that he could take both Godlin and Raptor in a fight, ‘given the situation wasn’t too much to their advantage.’

Planes Walker - First appearance: The Quester
She is one of the few Keepers that has seen all, done all. She has a shifty nature to her and often switches from being very talkative to being very silent. Although she is not very close to Raptor, she is to Godlin and so the two are often following one another around. Walker's powers are focused around dimensional traveling. She knows all of the dimensions that the Keepers operate in, how to get to them, and how to get out of them again.

Bringer - First appearance: "Keeper Comic Strip" (though he is mentioned in other books)
He was the Keeper of fire and was also one of the Original Keepers. Bringer was one of Raptor's closest friends. Lost to the Dimension of no Return because of Venom's actions and not following the plan laid out by Raptor. This event marked the start of the trial against Venom and those that followed him. After he was lost to the Dimension of no Return, his power was split among the different Keepers to those that could handle it.

The Lemith - First appearance: "Keeper Comic Strip"
She is one of the few people that actually turned down being a Keeper so that she could continue work as a scientist. The Lemith was at one time a member of the Original Keepers and her power was that of life, but this changed when one of her experiment backfired. Trying to prove that there really was a life after death, her body merged with it's soul. As a result, she could no longer live in the mortal world because she would phase in and out of the 'living world' itself, and so she returned to the Keepers. The Lemith is in fact a ghost who can take a physical form for only four hours out of the day.

Tellus - First appearance: The Quester
Tellus is the Keeper of geography and one of the Five Original Keepers. The truly odd thing about him is that he has one blue eye and one brown. Other than that, his manors are exemplary of what a Keeper's should be. He is calm, rational, and will get the job done no matter how long it takes.

Cirrstal - First appearance: "Keeper Comic Strip"
This is another of the Original Keepers. She is the Keeper of air, specifically weather. Cirrstal is actually very cheerful, compared to some of the sullen emotions of the other Keepers. She is really an exception to the most of the Keepers in way of her personality.

The Gate Keeper - First appearance: Introduction to the Keepers
This is the Keeper of time and law. He is the only Keeper that can travel through time and that knows of the laws of the dimensions and how to break them. Keep, however, cannot use is knowledge of the future to influence the Keepers, or things could easily take a turn for the worse. He can, however, pass judgement based on his knowledge of the future. For this reason, Keep was made the judge and jury of the Keepers. He is a purely neutral figure when everything comes down to it and is best suited for the job.

The Dynamos Twins - First appearance: Of Venom and Antidote
These two are also disputed among the Keepers. Though they are identical twins, but when seen together, subtle differences can be seen. The main problem with these two is that they are inseparable, but not in a literal sense. The two of them constantly finishing each other's sentences even if they are in different rooms. As the Keepers of chemistry, these two are responsible for making chemicals and making messed beyond reckoning. Their biggest blunder was blowing the lab up, and so causing the Keeper Compound to be split into two parts.

Gizmo and Gadget - First appearance: Introduction to the Keepers
These two are not brother and sister, they are just close friends with a common love; machines. Gizmo is the Keeper of mathematical machinery while Gadget is the Keeper of technical machinery. At least that is what they called it. Basically, Gizmo comes up with the idea while Gadget built it. Gadget is often taken into many missions because of her ability to build almost anything from anything. She has saved the Raptor, Godlin, Tech, Tran, and many of the others from certain doom because of this skill. While Gadget loves going on adventures, Gizmo hates them and would rather stay at home where it is safe so he can test out the few inventions he has built himself.

Selena - First appearance: The Quester
Selena is the Keeper of astronomy. She knows of all the stars, planets, and how to get to them in the Milky Way. Though she does a little dealing with dimensional travel, her main focus is the Milky Way, as that is where the Keeper's live and operate. Selena is not shy, but she does not like to hold conversations with other people. She feels that she has a job to do and that job is more important than casual talking.

The Myst - First appearance: Never (as of this point), though she is mentioned in Of Venom and Antidote
Her power, history, and everything else are unknown by all of the Keepers except herself. She is never seen, save maybe by the Raptor, as most of her time is spent dealing with the Black Tower that protects the Keeper Compound from earth quakes.

Realmer - First appearance: The Quester
Realmer is the Keeper of magic. This one was coming, so don't look so surprised. Realmer tends to keep out of the way of the science using Keepers like the Raptor and Tech, but she will help them if they ask for it, which isn't often. Just exactly how Realmer ended up with the powers of magic is beyond most of the Keepers. Those, like the Raptor, just don't want to know and so don't ask. Realmer is rather laid back and takes everything in with a grin, though, she can turn serious very quickly.

Fortunada - First appearance: Of Venom and Antidote
This is the Keeper of future, or, more correctly, fortune. She, like Keep, can see into the future, but while Keep sees the defined future based on certain things, Fortunada can only see the probable future. For this reason, she can use her knowledge to influence the Keepers in different ways. However, like any fortune teller, she gives her answers in riddles that must be solved.

Mouse - First appearance: The Quester
The youngest of all the Keepers, save for Venus, Mouse is the Keeper of computer science. He can hack into and program any computer known to man, and Keeper. Despite the pun on his name, Mouse actually looks like a mouse. He has large ears, wears glasses, is often twitching, and will become nervous when he is thinking intensely. Because of his age, Mouse is often caught playing computer games rather than working. Mouse was essentially forced to grow up and knew of no childhood what so ever. Thus, he tries to make up for it as often as he can.

Avion - First appearance: Of Venom and Antidote
Described as a crazy old man, Avion is the oldest of all the Keepers. He is also the Keeper of avionics. Found in a nursing home, Avion comes from the WWII era were he was a pilot for the Allies. Avion is an insane genius by all accounts. He can fly any ship that is thrown at him and knows how they operate. However, because of his insanity, he often thinks of every he does as a game. Avion will often come back from a mission saying that he won with a high score of whatever number he can thing of at the moment.

Robin - First appearance: Of Venom and Antidote
As the Keeper of books, Robin knows everything about books. From the title, to the author, to how many copies there are. If he touches a book, in any language, he will know everything in that book for two hours. However, if he reads the book, he will know the knowledge in it indefinitely. Robin is described as being a large, muscular man with a voice so soft and small as to contrast sharpy with his body. Robin is shy and reclusive, preferring to keep to himself and read all day while he works out.

Endo - First appearance: Of Venom and Antidote
Endo was picked up by the Keepers just as he entered the medical field under the human name of Carl Green. Thus, he still has some ethics, unlike most doctors. He devolved the Keeper’s immune system, which is, in all respects, perfect. Endo tends to stay on Earth, working as a doctor, but now and again, he comes back to Keeper Headquarters to work on various strands of viruses and what not. The doctor holds a deep hatred for the Raptor that will be explained in a book under the title of The Virtuosos .
