My Yorkshire Terriers Roger, Rags and Rosie
I have never had yorkies before and these small bundles of mischief have got me hooked! I don't want to show my dogs, I don't have the patients for showing. I like to keep my dogs as pets, I keep their hair short as one of their favorite passtimes is swimming in the nearby river. They love to play fight and they will walk forever if I let them ! I used to think yorkies were snappy little dogs that yapped all the time but boy was I wrong. These inquisitive little dogs are so full of life. They are brave and robust, just as strong and loyal as any large dog but small enough to curl up in your lap.

All yorkies start out life looking the same but, as you can see from these pictures, by the time they are a year old they can look very different. It is hard to belive that Roger and Rags come from the same litter ! They also have very different personalities. Rosie is three months younger than her brothers but she is definately the boss .If the boys have something she wants she just takes it and they don't stop her. She also likes to mother everyone including the humans. She has to make sure we all have clean ears ! She is a very loving little dog who likes to be fussed and much prefers humans to dogs. When we go for walks and we meet other people walking their dogs the boys run off to play with the dogs but Rosie heads straight for the owners hoping for some cuddles !
Rags is the serious one of the trio. He is a quiet little dog who seems to take most things in his stride. (if he were anymore laid back he would fall over !) But he can be just as mad as the others when we go for walks in the park. When we have guests at the house he will walk along the back of the sofa and sit with his paws on their shoulder, which can be a little unnerving if you don't know him but it is just his way of saying hello ! Rags loves small animals, when I had pet rats he would spend most of his time sleeping on top of their cages and when I got them out for their exercise he would follow them around trying to get them to play. I have no rats at the moment and he can't work out why my African Snail doesn't come out to play ! Unlike Rosie he hates being bathed or groomed. A typical little boy !
