And so the unbeaten run in 2004 continues, a hard physically battle against a youthful Fanad United yielded a home point for the Reds. Though chances were few and far between, a 1-1 draw was probably a fair result, although the manner in which the goal was conceded midway through the second half was disappointing, Fanad bundling the ball over the line after confusion from a corner. Martin Doherty expertly opened the scoring midway though the first half for Keadue, after latching onto a long clearance from Tony Boyle in goals. With the exception of the equalizing goal, it is hard to recall the Keadue netminder being extended on any other occasion over the 90minutes.
A bleary eyed Beaver, who arrived 5minutes before kick-off, was forced into 4 changes from last weekends victory over Buncrana, injury ruling out Danny Boyle, John Paul Boyle and James ODonnell, while Adrian Sweeney has returned to the county squad for the remainder of the season. In came Prionsais Forker, Aidan Gallagher, Danny Doogan and Polish sensation Autur. The Beaver will surely be concerned as the superb season so far may threaten to turn sour, as numbers in the squad whittle away. Next up at Central Park is the visit of Bonagee Utd, this coming Sunday for the first encounter between the sides this season.
Added to the website this week is the guess the score details, underage update and the pitch advertising details. We would more than welcome some comments on the forum regarding the Dungloe GAA dinner dance on Saturday past, as the webmaster is lead to believe that some dodgy clobber was sported by prominent members of the Keadue setup, photographic evidence would be more than welcome! Talk to you next week, Cmon the Reds.
