TEACHER NOTES

The contains the following teacher notes for the following courses.

Yr 10 GNVQ Part One IT. Year 10's do three units during this year.

Unit 1 - Presenting Information (Wordprocessing)
A unit where important new concepts are taught. The appreciation that the choice of font and images placed on a page produce a very important impression on the audience. Where this is to attact an audiences attention or give the audience the information they require in a logical manner. Syllabus

Unit 2 - Handling Information (SS and DB)
A unit where it is important that data is handled in a special manner so it easy to store and retrieve the information required, rather than having to do the manual search ourselves.

Unit 3 - Hardware and Software
Learn about the importance of Computer Hardware and the different tasks they perform for a user. The different software to use and utilise the hardware and also the ways the software can be configured to make software more user friendly.

Yr 11 GNVQ Intermediate. Year 11's do three units during this year.

Unit 5 - Multimedia
The use of hyperlinks, audio, video and animation when presenting and protraying information to an audience who wants to interact with the program.

Unit 7 - Information Resources
Learn how to search for information using paper-based and computer-based sources. Also can information flow be improves within a company structure by incorporating new technologies?

Unit 10 - Database Design
Design of a database system for an end-user. It needs to be practical and satify all the users needs. Vigorous testing and design is required
