I cannot believe that it is May already. At least Mother Nature seems to have gotten her act together and given us some appropriate weather. It is so nice to be in the 70's as opposed to the 40's and 90's we have been flipping between for the past month or so. It is also nice to be able to get outside and start doing things with the garden. I think we'll be getting to the nursery to buy some plants this weekend. I can't wait to really start making the garden look the way I want it to. I have the entire thing planned out, according to plants I like and feng shui principals. (Kylan doesn't have much of an opinion about it...as long as it looks nice, I like it, and he doesn't have to think about it!) ![]() This image, Spidey, and all related copyrights and trademarks are owned by Marvel Comics which has no affiliation with this website, does not sponsor it, etc, etc, and so forth. On to home improvements. Things on the inside are starting to slow down since the weather has gotten nicer. It is difficult to stay enthused about the indoor projects when the sunshine beckons! We are trying to get somemore things done inside before it gets too warm. Without air conditioning, we don't exactly relish being indoors, painting bedrooms. I decided to included a photo of the still-in-progress paint stripping of the upstairs woodwork. As you can see, there is not just a layer of white paint over everything but also a layer of a lovely(!) turquoise blue underneath. I can't even imagine a time when having that color all over your walls was fashionable! Anyways, once the stripping is complete (who knows when!), then we can get things painted. I'll let you know how that goes. Until next time, D.

![]() ![]() ![]() Why a picture of Spider Man? Well, it's because we went to the movie on opening night. Being comicbook fans, we had look forward to pretty much any movie based on comic characters. And the "Spider Man" movie was no exception. It is an amazing movie...it follows the original story pretty well, has lots of great action, and is just a lot of fun. And spekaing of comics, we made a special trip to our local comic shop last Saturday. In the U.S., May 4 was Free Comic Book Day. A huge number of comic publishers (including the biggies, Marvel and DC) sent free issues of certain titles to comicbook retailers to give away. It was meant to encourage more people to visit their local shop and buy/read comics. The idea was for those who are into comics to bring along a friend who may not be and introduce them to that wonderful world. Our only problem was that no one we asked was able to make it! But we came away with about 30 free comics! And that same day we were complete kids and treated ourselves to some of the new Star Wars figures.
