what does the name AD ASTRA mean?
Ad Astra is Latin for "To the Stars". The star is part of the Island Packet Logo
We are from Kansas. The Kansas State Motto is "Ad Astra per Aspera" which means "To the Stars through Difficulties". It represents the difficulties Kansas had in becoming a state and hence attaining a star on the US Flag. This was just before the Civil War when the state was known as Bleeding Kansas
