My first boat was a 14 foot Vanguard sloop.

I moved up to a 23 foot cutter rigged Venture called Amethyst. My family and I sailed these boats on lakes near Kansas City, mostly at Perry Lake between Lawrence and Topeka Kansas.
In 1987 my wife and I took a learn to bareboat sailing course from the Annapolis school of Sailing in the US and British Virgin Islands. We learned so much and loved the area so much that we bought A Beneteau/Moorings 432 called Lady Jayhawk and kept it in the BVI's.

In 1998 we bought Halimeda, and Island Packet 45. In 1999 we took a year off and sailed her from the west coast of Florida to Trinidad and back. See www.halimeda.com
