- This resource will provide
administration and support of Windows servers (NT4/2000) as part of an
operations support team responsible for providing Tier 2 support in a
multi-network data center.
Support software running on Windows and maintained by data center staff.
Responsible for monitoring systems using Tivoli and Mercury Interactive Topaz
Troubleshoot OS and application issues on Windows servers
Be the first line of defense in troubleshooting server issues Work with HP
Service Desk and Remedy ticketing systems Assist with patching and
upgrades
Assist with rack and stack of new servers
Some possible monitoring of Solaris and HP-UX systems Able to assist with
networking issues
Sun System Administration - work
with the client team to support a large
eBusiness/Web Delivery data center with hundreds of Sun servers in a
multi-network, clustered environment.
Work with a team of Solaris system administrators, DBA's, network
engineers, and application engineers to maintain and enhance the
existing data center.
Responsible for monitoring and ticketing using Tivoli, Service Desk, and
Remedy
Troubleshoot problems and communicate issues and solutions to team
members and management
Assist in coordination of patching/upgrades and change management
Coordinate with Sun support team to identify problems and determine fix
strategy
Create and follow standard processes, plan effectively to complete tasks
on schedule, and clearly document results
Assist with security, database, backup/recovery, storage (EMC) and
clustering issues
Tivoli Management - provide day to day
administration of the Tivoli
environment with over 200 servers, storage area network, and 20 separate
networks supporting web eCommerce delivery.
Support a complex multi-network Tivoli implementation with over 20 IP
networks
Manage Tivoli support of data center growth and change, including new
servers and movement of computing resources
Assist in implementation of improvements to the overall Tivoli
monitoring environment
Monitoring the environment to detect any hardware or software issues and take
appropriate corrective action
Document the environment and procedures and troubleshoot
server/storage/network issues
Transition knowledge to internal team members

a) Extensive experience in installing, System Administration and

b) Hands-on experience in installing SUN/IBM/HP-COMPAQ Server

d) Experience in Legato Back-up/Volume Manager/Net Back-up a plus.

a) Be willing to get relocated anywhere in the USA depending
