An intricate doll of Oda Nobunaga made of porcelain, satin, and metal, that also functions as a clock. This was made in 1992 in Fukushima, and originally a part of a set of samurai dolls (musha ningyo in Japanese) for the Boys' Festival. This anime-like pic of Oda Nobunaga as a li'l kid was made by a school friend of Asamichi Riki: Matsu, 10 years old. I wish he (or she?) sent a larger and better pic than a cellphone-camera snapshot..... However, arigato, Matsu-chan. :-) Click here for pictures & story of Oda Nobunaga's childhood. |
Oda Nobunaga as interpreted by two computer games: released in 2000 (above) and earlier in 1998 (below).
This solid and blocky Oda Nobunaga was originally a mural (to the uninitiated: a mural is a pic made with brushes and paints on a wall -- if you're using spraycans, that'd be grafitti) in Kobe.
