Joda Desert Alladin
I brought Alladin just before the Aussie Champs in 2000 and he came home to live with me in June of that year. Always a lovely natured boy right to the end. He won many hearts along the way and produced some lovely foals. Unfortunately he was never bred to any Straight mares :(. I do have two daughter of his remaining here. One is for sale the other will remain here forever. The younger filly is so like Alladin I can't bear to part with her now he is gone.
Alladin developed mild colic on the 15th of Oct 2006. The vets attended him that evening but nothing seemed to ease his discomfort. Gradually he seemed to worsen. I took him to the Canberra Vet Hospital on the morning of the 17th. I stayed with him until the evening when we made the decision to try operating to see if we could find out why he was in such discomfort. Unfortunately he was not to survive the surgery. It turned out he had a massive enterolith in his colon. It perforated the bowel as both Mark Ethel and Ken Jacobs tried to remove it. At which point Ken asked me for permission to put him to sleep.
Rest in Peace my beautiful boy. You have left but your footprints remain in my heart and your spirit remains in our front paddock,.
