The name Kaydance Park was choosen from the word Cadence which means musical rhythm. To me the hoofbeats of my equine companions are music to my ears so I though this word was an appropriate expression of that. Unfortunately the word Cadance itself had already been used to name a quite famous mare so I altered the spelling to allow me to still have the same meaning in the stud prefix.
Since then we have brought a number of mares to become our broodmare band. They have been chosen for conformation, temperament and type. I seem to favour mares of the Kehailen strains and as such most of the mares are of these strains.
Our foundation mares are K.P Shaakira Shae, Aratahnes T'Shara, Xanadu Yasmina, Kyang Kara and recently the straight Egyptian mare Shiraza.
It was in the year 2000 we acquired after much searching the beautiful straight Egyptian stallion Joda Desert Alladin. So to this end most of our youngsters are Egyptian related.
To add to our newly formed SE horse we now have added the lovely mare Tiawarra Shareh. Shareh has joined us from her breeder Debbie Comini and we thank her for allowing us to have her come here! She is a wonderful natured young mare that we look forward to breeding with Alladin in the future.
Shiraza was sent to Gleniph Arabians to be bred to the beautiful SE stallion BA Minstril Bay for a December 2006 foal. This is one breeding I am very excited about as it has been planned for a very long time.
Also sent away to stud was our first homebred mare KP Shaakira Shae, she is being rebreed to Shambala Iraquoi for a full sibling to the gelding KP Ibn Bikr.
We did not bred any mares to Alladin last season and so are not expecting anything from him this coming season.
The mare KP Secret has been lightly shown this year for numerous placings at a number of local shows including a Reserve Champion at the Bemboka show. She is now my daughters 2nd Pony Club mount. She is a very pretty young mare but does have a stubborn streak!
Our sad news is we lost our beautiful boy Alladin in November :(. He surcumbed to colic and ended up having to be euthanised.
Well our beautiful Shiraza did it! She carried a foal full term and produced a stunning bay colt whom we have tentatively named Bayshir. Bayshir is now 5 months old and has a star one white sock. He has the most curly tipped little ears and I just love him. Being the first foal I have bred in a few years I feel he is a bit special.
Shae also produced a colt. He is as yet un-named but possibly will be called K.P Shakir. This colt is a BIG boy!! Like his full sibling KP Ibn Bikr (Bikki) he is a chestnut with quite a lot of white. We look forward to hearing of his adventures as he matures! This colt was bred by us but will be owned by Brindellah Arabians at weaning. Currently he resides at Brindellah along with Shae as Kim Goodsell KP Shaakira Shae on lease. We also look forward to hearing how they all go when they head off to some shows later on this year (hopefully).
KP Secret has continued being a lovely saddle mare for both myself and my daughter. Her most notable recent win was winning Champion Sporting Horse at the Pambula Winter Woolies show last August. She EQUALLED on points with a young rider named Abbey Tarlington. As niether Secret nor myself are really sporting orientated it felt pretty good to win ;).
