Scorpius is an ancient constellation that is one of the original six constellations of the zodiac. Being the hunter that he was, Orion boasted that he was going to rid the world of all wild animals. Upon hearing this, Gaia was furious and created the Scorpion and sent it to kill him. The Scorpion chased Orion into the heavens, but was never fast enough to catch him.
