ProducerKatrina consulted with some of the major recording studios in Ottawa and one of the producers she was put in contact with was Michael Weiser of Dream Engine Audio. After the initial interview and meeting, it was established that the two were well suited to work together to produce a CD that would satisfy Katrina's desires and Michael's professional standards. Over the course of a six month period they worked together closely to bring Katrina's rough cut melodies to a finished sound. The success of this CD would be a much deserved boost to both Michael and Katrina in their individual pursuits in the music business.
Musicians Katrina would like to acknowledge the musicians that performed and added their personal touch to the musical tracks on this CD.
Time
Katrina spent several months writing material before the time came to start the arranging and recording part of the process. Heading into the recording studio, each musician was recorded separately, requiring about two full days apiece. For Katrina's singing tracks, it took approximately seven days in the studio to satisfy both herself and Michael that the finished product was of their high standards. It took approximately six months of their working together to arrive at the final arrangements and mixes that would eventually end up on the CD.
Expenses
This project was self-financed with no outside backing, a tribute to Katrina's character and dedication. Adding this financial pressure to the pressure of making the CD created an even greater risk for Katrina, however, she wanted to have the artistic freedom to create the music that she desired.
Experience
Katrina feels very fortunate to have had the opportunity to create this project. She feels that it has been an incredible learning experience and hopes that it will encourage her children and others to follow their dreams. She would love the chance to create yet another CD someday if the opportunity arises and the original CD sells to her satisfaction.
