Private Transport to Swayambhunath, known as the "Monkey Temple".
Situated on a hilltop not far from Kathmandu, it is an Ancient Stupa,
Temple and Village offering great Shops & Markets, with the best view
of Kathmandu. Built in 5 A.D., it has two Buddha's & Lions guarding
the 360 step entrance.

Afternoon:   I (Gary, your Aussie Guide & Escort) will take us
exploring. We will walk only 100m from our Lodge to Durbar Square,
which is in the center of Kathmandu's Ancient system of Alley's,
and visit the "Old Kings Palace". It overlooks Durbar Square and
is now an interesting Museum, Celebrating King Tribhuvan.
We will continue through the alley's and I will show you Cultural sites,
Shops, Markets, the International Post Office, Banks, Medical Places,
Fresh food shops who carry imported food from Australia, Embassy's
and Phone/Fax & Email Cafe's. After a great day of sightseeing and
Orientation, we return to our Lodge for a relaxing Dinner. Do what
you like tonight, Go for a walk in the alley's at night, Sit on a Pyramid
step watching local markets lit by lanterns or socialize at Home-Base
in the Restaurant, our rooms or up on our rooftop 6 floors high.

Morning:   Breakfast at our Lodge Restaurant.
You will experience a lot today. I will look after you & organize your
needs, You just Enjoy! At this time one of the above Festivals will
be starting. We will go exploring, however remember that while we
do our own thing, the whole City and all the alley's will be very busy
and Festive. I will again start us off by taking us to Durbar Square
as we live so close. It is a huddle of Shrines & Temples on small
stepped Pyramids, Markets & World Heritage Sites, surrounded
by Ancient buildings with intricately carved eaves, doors & windows.
From here we will travel across town by rickshaw. We will see or
stop at many other Stupa's, Temples or Shops with various types
of Craft along the way.
Lunch:   As your Aussie Guide & Escort, I would have lead us to the
Thamel area of Kathmandu, where we will visit a friends Restaurant.
Afternoon:   During more sightseeing we work our way back through
the Festive Action in these Ancient Alley's to our Lodge for Dinner.
The Festival is bound to be very active until about Ten PM, so you

any energy left.
