I'd like to introduce myself to you. My name is Kathleen Olds and I live in Taylor Mill with my husband (Dave). Our son, Nathan, attends the University of Louisville and our daughter, Stephanie, graduated from there in Dec. 2008 and now lives and works in Louisville. We have an older daughter, Megan, that is married and living in Steubenville, Ohio. This is my seventh year of teaching at Ryland Heights Elementary. I taught at Visalia Elementary the previous 15 years until it's closing in June 2003. During that time I taught K-6 as well as Reading Recovery and the Title Reading program. Before Visalia, I taught in Eastern Ohio and Wheeling, West Virginia while living in a bordering city called Martins Ferry, Ohio. In regard to my own education, I received my Bachelor's Degree from West Liberty State College in West Virginia and my Master's from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. In 11/2002, I obtained my National Board Certification in the area of Early Childhood, ages 3-8. It was a wonderful and worthwhile learning process for me which lasted one year. During my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling on vacations with my family, and attending my son and daughter's sporting and extra-curricular events in Louisville. I am looking forward to meeting the new families of my Ryland students this year. |
