Assessment, as defined by W. James Popham, is “a formal attempt to determine a

student’s status with respect to an educational variable of interest.” (Popham 363)

Today’s teachers, students and schools find themselves facing many new

pressures regarding assessment that are a result of the No Child Left

Behind Act, which was signed by George Bush, in 2002.

This site was designed to provide insight on my personal philosophy of

assessment, as well as to provide information for parents, students, and

administrators regarding my educational assessment policies and practices and to

answer some basic questions regarding educational assessment.
