Cheat Cheat is a Chance Game, it has been given a rating of Hard. The NeoPets version of Cheat is exactly the same as the normal Cheat card game. The idea is to be the first to get rid of all your cards. It costs 50 NeoPoints to play. You play against three opponent's at a time, and each level you win, the lowest opponent is knocked out, and a craftier one will take his place! You win trophies for beating certain levels. Bronze for level 3, Silver for level 5 and Gold for level 7.
On your turn, you have the option of playing up to four cards. The cards are placed face down on the table. As you place the card, you must declare what they are, but you don't have to tell the truth!!! Example I play three Kings, and declare that I have played three Kings. - Truthful! or I play a Nine, a Four and an Ace, and declare that I have played three Sevens. - Cheating!
It is then up to the other players to believe you and let you get away with a possible lie, or to claim that you are a "Cheat". If they allow you to place the cards on the table, play continues with the next person who also plays some cards face down and declares their value. However, if you are accused of cheating, the cards that you played are checked. If they are what you said they were, the person who accused you must place the whole stack of cards on the table into their hand. If on the other hand, you were lying and you get caught out, you have to place the whole stack in your hand! This works the same way if you decide to declare one of the other players a cheat, but if you catch them cheating, you get a small NeoPoint bonus (the exact value will depend on which level you are on). Sometimes you have to cheat, even if you don't want to. Example Capara plays two cards and declares them to be two eight's. You have a Queen, a Three, and a Four in your hand. But you have to play cards that are the same, one higher, or one lower then that last cards declared - so you would have to play a seven, an eight or a nine on top of Capara's cards. As you have to play a card, in this case you will have to cheat!
Here a a few tips I have come up with when I play Cheat, they work for me, so maybe they will work for you too! Master Rule - If anyone plays a set of cards that you know they cannot possibly have, catch them out! Example - Capara plays three Jacks, and you have two in your hand! Other Tips 1. Never play four cards if its a Cheat, you will almost always get caught out! Conversely, if another player plays four cards, it is normally a cheat, so catch them out! (The only exception to this would be if you had almost cleared your hand, and there were a lot of cards on the table). 2. Always cheat if you are the first to start a new pile on the table, If another player puts down three or more cards when they are starting a new pile, try to catch them out - if you're wrong you only risk gaining a few cards! 3. If another player is putting down their last cards, always call them cheat - you may have too take the cards, but if you don't do anything, then you have lost the game! 4. Never cheat if you are putting down four of a kind, the other players will almost always try to catch you if you play four cards, so call their bluff! (This also means that if you are cheating, try not to play four cards at once - especially not on the later levels!). 5. Try to keep a check on who has what cards, If Capara plays three five's, and Chuffer Bob calls her a cheat, but she was telling the truth, then you know Chuffer Bob has three five's - so if anyone else tries to play more then one five, you know they are cheating! (This only works in the short term, don't forget Chuffer Bob could put down a five as a cheat (e.g. declare it another card), then if someone later picks up the pile, you don't know who has the five's because you wont know if Chuffer Bob put them down or not!) 6. Once you have played the game through all the levels once, to get your Gold Trophy, play the game again, and declare cheat on every round. You are very unlikely to win the game like this, but as you get NeoPoints for catching cheats, you quite often end up gaining more NeoPoints then you paid to play the game!
I hope these hints help! If you know of any more, please NeoMail me! |
