Monday Aug 22nd, Today I did what I have been trying to work up the nerve to do for several weeks. I finally broke up with Jamie. I was getting frustrated with him because he never wants to go out and have fun, and I felt like I was wasting my time. It required quite the pep talk from Jason, but finally I picked up the phone and just did it. Since it certainly wasn't unexpected, Jamie took it very well, and I think that we will be able to stay really good friends. We just don't belong in a relationship, that's all! |

Wednesday Aug 24th, I had a "friends" dinner with Jamie today; it went very well. We get along WAY better as friends, I don't know why I didn't break up with him sooner! After dinner, we headed over to Commune to watch some of the open mic night and hang out with our friend Rob for his birthday. Another very late night . . . |

Friday Aug 27th, It is report card time again at Wonderland, and we have the task of giving and marking tests for all of our afternoon classes. But of course, we can't actually put the real test scores on the report cards, because god forbid if a student actually got under
80%. So we have to give and mark these tests, only to doctor the scores and averages for the parents. What a waste of time. I don't understand why these parents can't handle the truth about their kids. I've said it before and I'll say it again-- this is not a school,
this is a business. We're only after keeping our students' tuition. Tonight, there was a big party at Rob's apartment to fully celebrate his birthday. He has a really big two bedroom apartment that he shares with a roommate. I'm so jealous! We all had a great time. Rob (who is from northern England) and I have started to look at each other with more than a friendly interest, so it will be interesting to see where this leads.
