Feng Shui in Practice

Some things have a powerful effect on the movement of Chi energy, others a much weaker or neutral one.  Even the empty spaces, or lack of them, between objects or in rooms and hallway can help smooth the path of Chi through your home or obstruct it.

The more active design elements include water, lights, mirrors, plants, fresh flowers, crystals, candles, sounds and sea salt.  Things such as furniture, carpets, curtains and cupboards are less potent. Although relatively passive, your furniture sometimes defines where you will be in your home- your location and the direction you face.  Your furniture should be placed to enable you  to spend  time in your most favourable positions.  Doors and windows are important in that they affect the movement of Chi energy into and out of your home as well as through it.

Everything you put in your home influences the flow of  Chi energy.  Colours, shapes and materials are all significant.  Generally, it is the shapes, colours and materials of furnishings and decorative objects that affect the flow of Chi energy.  The shape of an object physically alters the way Chi energy flows around it and how Chi energy flows into and out of it.  The colour determines the light frequencies reflected into the room, which will influence its Chi.  The Material things are made of also convey very different kinds of Chi energy.  Whether you are trying to find the right place for a particular object, or the right object for a special place, Feng Shi principles can help you make a successful choice.
