Living: Making a Living!

I am a 1st grade teacher at Benefield ES. I have 22 children in my class, and may soon have even more! Being a teacher here is hard, but I love it. This is a picture of my class:

I teach in a Title I school. That basically translates to - hard. I have had some difficult times... let's just put it this way, the school is paying for me to go to a day-long seminar all about working with "difficult" children. Just me. I had no choice in the matter. They just gave me a piece of paper and said, "You're going to this. Find a sub for that day." I told another teacher that they told me I was going, and she wanted to go, too, and they said no. Does this tell you anything about my class??? It's hard.
But, like I said, I love it. How could you not?

Admittingly, some children are sweeter than others. "I love you, Miss Pomeroy!" and accidentally calling me 'Mom'. Some decide they are going to hit the file cabinet with their fists, kick things across the room, and throw backpacks and jackets in the trashcan, and yelling "I hate you!". It is enough to drive anyone absolutely insane. But... take the good with the bad. I have some sweeties. And I love them ALL.

Here are some links to the school's websites. You should really check out Benefield’s, and then look under “Teachers”. See if you can find my name! I teach there!
