The East Coast and its temples

We know we have definetely left the far South as we find this massive buddha on a hill near the road.
Check it out, 30km away, in the fisher's villages, we can still see it sticking out in the background!!

That was the first temple along the road. Then there was loads more (way too many to take a picture of all of them!)
Unfortunaltely we didn't get the same weather on this coast, so instead of cycling in the rain we decided to finish the route by train.

And "hivis" Karen shows Thais the new trends from the UK

On the way to Bangkok we stopped in Petchaburi, perfect cultural stop. The city has a dozen temples and the very nice Phra Nakhon Khiri national parc, situated on a hill in the city, encloses royal halls, palces and wats. The view over the city is amazing, and so are the monkeys!

We planned to visit the city's Wats in the morning. It rained non stop for about 3 hours ... and left the streets flooded. Not the scenery we'd excpect in the middle of March!
