A 2cv in Morocco

Summer 1998

Our first adventure in Morocco was less energetic than our tandem trip. We went in a Citroen 2cv (the classic "Deux Chevaux") with our mate Emile (pronouce "ey meal), and we traveled around the whole of central Morocco, from the mountain tracks in the Atlas to the sand dunes in the Sahara.

South, in the Atlas, the only green lands are valleys dug by the Oueds and full of palm trees. Above is the Dades valley on the left, the Ziz valley on the right, and below are Tinerir and the Todra valley. Also, south of Marrakech, is the Draa valley (not pictured).

In the summer, heat can be really tiring, and bathing is a real treat. On the left, a lake in the Middle Atlas, and right is the Blue Spring of Meski, not far from Er Rachidia and the desert.
