In July 2005 we trekked to Norway for one week. We stayed in Oslo, the capital, in the southeast for 2 days and then took a train across the country to Bergen on the west coast.
We spent 2 days in Bergen and then took a day trip to the Hardanger Fjord and with a 3-hour stopover in the town of Eidford to the southeast of Bergen.
The next day we took a train to Myrdal where be boarded the 1 hour Flam Railway for an incredible steep ride down a mountain to the fjord town of Flam. Next we took a short bus to Aurland where we spent the night in a hotel on the fjord.
We hiked some the next day and then took a 5 & 1/2 hour ferry ride back through the world's longest fjord, the Sogneford, and then down the coast to Bergen. Then we took a night train back to Oslo and flew back home. |
