The Beginning of the End |
|
August 2002 - December 2002 |
|
|
|
The Apocalypse had begun on
the 15th August 2002 with the creation of KniT's Disciples of the Apocalypse
[Kapoks] clan. The Founder had no idea of what it would become, but had the
dream of leading a group of warriors down the path to success and global
domination. The clan mainly started off as a fun clan, with ladder success
as a future priority. Many players came and went, several of which ended up
being long-term members and strong figures amongst our growing community.
Playing mainly as a Red Alert 2 clan, the players had many fun games making
several rivalries and allies in the process. The most noteworthy rivalry was
with We Kill Seelz [Seelz] clan. Kapoks lost every game against them but it
was a hell of a lot of fun either way. A good start. |

2003 |

January 2003 - June 2003 |

The new year brought new hopes
that Kapoks will have their turn in the spotlight. However the lack of
competitive experience and increasing number of inactive members grew
worrying. An implosion was imminent and by May 2003, Kapoks was facing
extinction because there must have been less than a handful of semi-active
members. Grabbing onto the final strand of hope, the Leader Knit2003 took it
into his own hands and campaigned towards success in the new XCC Community
Ladder (XCL). With a massive individual effort he achieved rank 7 - a Hall of
Fame achievement. This era also saw the launching of the Kapoks website with
forums, as an attempt to improve communication amongst the members. |

Renegade Revolution |
|
July 2003 - December 2003 |
|
|
|
After the XCL success
of May 2003, Red Alert 2 Kapoks died out almost completely. This left a
clear path for the new wave of Kapoks Disciples. The legendary Zacman63 was
most probably the biggest contributor towards the rise of the Renegade
branch of the clan. This clan branch evolved quickly and didn't take long to
establish itself as the new main focus of the clan, with some major new
recruits and rapid advances in playing ability. During this time, the Red
Alert 2 branch managed to grab a couple of new members and began to slowly
get going again. |

Taking
the Power Back |
|
January 2004 -
April 2004 |
|
|
|
Eventually the Red
Alert 2 branch managed to catch back up with Renegade and both sides were
beginning to prosper. The clan had finally hit one of it's strongest ever
points. While these branches were building up towards future ladder
campaigns, it had been decided that it was time to introduce a new fully
functional branch. Many had been started on trial, however, in the end,
managed to fail to impress. This included Diablo II (Lord of Destruction),
Generals (Zero Hour) and Call of Duty. |
