Creature Feature Big Book
After reading the book Fishy Facts, we had a class discussion about the ways animals use the parts of their body. We focused on four main reasons animals have these special parts.
We said that some animals have special body parts to help them find, catch and eat food. Others may have special parts to help them hide or protect themselves. Some animals have special body parts to find a mate and/or take care of babies. Many animals have body parts to help them move in special ways.
After this discussion, we drew pictures of real or imaginary animals. We identified their special body parts and how they were used. We then put the pictures all together to make a class big book called How Fish Use Their Body Parts. Please note, for safety reasons, the students' names have been removed from their work.
