| Chapter 27 Part 2 |
| Amelia was shuffling around Justin's house trying to pack her stuff. She knew she shouldn't have unpacked since she only spent two days in Orlando, but she did anyways. A few hours after she arrived home, she placed a call to Lynn and told her she was leaving the next morning and Lynn offered to take her to the airport. Deciding to take a break from packing and eat something, she dug through Justin's cabinet. Lynn had stocked it with food the day before she arrived and she was glad she wouldn't have to go grocery shopping. The ringing of her cell phone, stopped her searching. Checking the caller ID, her parents home number flashes. Before she could say hello, her mother cried out her words. "He's dead. Your father just died on us." Tears brimmed under her eyes until they fell making her vision blurry. Holding the counter tight, afraid that her body may collapse on her, the line was consumed by her mother's and her cries. Suddenly the line went dead without another word said on her mom's line. She really didn't notice it, all she could think about was how she just lost her father. Going through her phone book, she clicked on the familiar number and waited for an answer. "Hey baby. How's everything going?," said Justin. Amelia busted out in tears and Justin immediately had a bad feeling. "Baby, what's wrong? What's going on?" Between cries, she spit out her words. "M-My D-d-dad is d-dead." A frown eluded his face. She told him that her father was in the hospital and all, but he never expected the man to die. Of course, he had never actually met the man face to face, but he felt a little sadden by the news. "Honey, I'm so sorry. I didn't think his condition was so severe. Did you see him before he died? God, I wish I was there to comfort you. Did you call mama?" Running his hands over his new growth of hair that started to grow back. "Yes, I saw him and we sort of reconciled and I did the same with Mya, mom, and Nisha. I felt so good to have some closure then I get this call. I was also planning to go home tomorrow afternoon, but I guess that won't be happening. I wish you were here too. That's why I called; wanted to hear your voice. You always cheer me up somehow. No, I didn't call her yet. I called you as soon as I got the call from mom," taking a deep breath. "Where are you? I hear a lot of voices and noise." "I'm in the dance studio right now. This is the most quietest spot I can find at the moment. Do you want me to fly out there? I can right now if you want me to," he asked. Seeing Marty give him a signal to get in position cause he was ready, Justin held his index finger to say he wanted a minute. "I want you to, but you have job to do and I don't want you to break things just to be with me." "I want to come and I could care less want anyone else says because you and your state of mind is more important then interviews and photo shoots. Family comes first before a career and you're my family. You're about to be my wife and I'm not going to take anyone or something over you or Jisela. I can book a flight for tonight or tomorrow and push back everything because this is a family emergency," he strongly stated. A first set of tears cascaded down her cheeks from Justin's words. She knew she could count on him." Ok, please come down. Book the fight for tomorrow so you have enough time to get everything set. Call me with all the details, ok?" "Good. I'll definitely call you don't worry." He got a tap on his shoulder and Marty was pointing to his watch. Sighing, he turned back around and added more to his sentence."Look, I'll talk to ya later. I'm wasting our dance time and I think I'm pissing Marty off too since he has no idea who I'm talking to this long. I love you, ok? Don't ever forget that. We'll get through this together." "Ok, talk later. I'm glad you're there to support me and I love you," she said, before hanging up along with Justin. Sighing, she felt a little bit better, but had to make two more calls to Lynn and her girls back home. Her plans were changed and now she was to stay to help plan the funeral and possibly collect things her father left for her in the will. She just prayed that somehow she would have the strength to get through everything and finally get to planning her faithful wedding day. Back Home Chapter 28 |
