| Justin arrived in Florida the next day and he stayed with her the whole day. She was glad that she could feel his strong arms around her making her feel safe and protected. They spent the rest of the day being with each other and talking about what they were going to do on her fathers funeral set to happen in two days. Justin was very concern about Amelia and tried his best to be a understanding and loving fiance and friend to her at that moment. The way she sounded on the phone when he spoke to her was heart breaking because he could hear the grieving and sadness in her voice. He was trying his hardest to understand her pain, but he could only to a certain extent. "I'm afraid to see all of my family," said Amelia in a barely audible voice. Justin had to strained somewhat to hear what she had just said. "Why are you afraid? Don't be. You should be strong." Kissing the top of her head as she snuggled closer to his warm body. "I haven't seen some of these people since I was 13 and I know they know about what happened 2-3 years ago. Some of my family will understand while others will ignore me and pretend I was never apart of the family. It will be a day for daddy, but it'll turn up being lash at Amelia for the pain she caused her father and the family." She sniffled a bit and he held her closer knowing pools of tears were about to explode. "Baby, I have no clue what to say to try and ease what you're feeling, but I can only tell you this. Don't let them get the best of you. You've evolved to be a strong woman and I want you to show that to them," he said, looking into her brown eyes. The intercom across from them, buzzed, indicating that someone was outside his gates. Justin got up to answer it and to his and Amelia's surprise, it was Mrs. Jacobs. Taking a look through the drapes, he made sure it was only her, then looked towards Amelia for her permission. Shaking her head for a yes, he let Mrs. Jacobs entered and went to the front door to greet her. Smiling, he greeted Mrs. Jacobs like nothing ever happened. "Hello Mrs. Jacobs. It a surprise seeing you here. Amelia is in the living room, follow me." "It nice to meet you once again, Justin," she replied with a soft hearted smile. Following Justin, she was very amazed with his house for such a young man. Just looking at it, she could tell that Amelia could be very happy right here. Entering upon the nicely decorated living room, she made eye contact with her daughter. For a few seconds there was stoned silence, so Justin decided to speak up. "I believe, I should let you two women talk amongst yourselves." Leaning over he kissed Amelia on the forehead."I'll be in the kitchen if you need me." Walking away, Mrs. Jacobs took a seat across from Amelia and spoke up since she knew her daughter wasn't going to make the first move. "Hey. How are you doing?," she nervously asked. Amelia stared with a blank; emotionless expression on her face. "I'm hanging in there. It's not a great day when you find out your father dies and your family or supposed family was going to keep that a secret from his youngest and last child. You?," she spoke with a flat tone in her voice. Silence was met after her comment. Mrs. Jacobs felt very uncomfortable just sitting there and with how her attempt to see and talk to her daughter was failing miserably. Amelia on the other hand was not impressed in anyway. All she wanted was for her mother to leave the premises. She wasn't in the mood for any kind of talk or company besides, Justin, Lynn, and Paul. "Look, for whatever reason you came here for, speak about it now because I really don't want company or arguments. Right now it's my time to be counseled by my fiance and then I can deal with family on the funeral day." Taken back, Mrs. Jacobs was speechless for a moment. "Honestly, all I wanted was to have a talk about anything with you, but I see that's not going to happen. I don't know.....I-I miss having my other daughter. We used to talk and have fun with one another and do mother-daughter things.....-" "It won't or can't happen. There is no trust or love in our relationship, I don't even think we have an relationship mom. We could work on re-building what we lost, but don't expect it to happen now or even fast cause it won't. I need to get myself and my family together before I deal with this drama. Personally, I believe I can deal with not having ya'll, but then I think of the importance of family and trying to work a way through this. I want to make things right, ok, but not now," expressed Amelia. "I understand. I'll go and let you have your time. I, hopefully we see you at the funeral. I and the rest of the family would really like you to be there and Justin is gladly welcomed," she concluded, walking herself out. Watching as her mother left, she let out a deep sigh and closed her eyes as she leaned her head back on the couch. Justin re-appeared after her heard the closing of the door and sat right next to her. Looking up at him, she looked as if she was about to cry. There was no need for words to be spoken between them. He knew exactly what her watery brown eyes were trying to say to him. He buried her in his arms and instantly her body shook with cries. Back Home Chapter 29 |
