Tena was born Oct. 21,1862, Strackholt, near Aurich, East Frisia, (Ostfriesland), Germany. She was the daughter of Jan Frerichs Osterbur and Trientje Ubben Meinen Osterbur. She married: Albert Gerhardt, Sr., on March 7, 1888 in Rockport, MO, Atchison Co. They were married by by Pastor B. Sickel. She was the Mother of Rosa Gerhardt (who died in infancy), Herman John Gerhardt, Bill Gerhardt, and Erna Gerhardt Baker.
Tina's Grandson, Henry, reported in an interview with his son, Edward, that Tina was born in Stetien, Ostfriesland, Germany. She immigrated to the states and worked for a banker in Rockport, MO (Atchison, CO). A marriage license was issued there to Albert Gerhardt and Tina Janssen on March 5, 1888. It shows that Tina married Albert Gerhardt in Rockport, MO March 7, 1888. In 1903 they moved to Netawaka, KS. They farmed about 1/2 mile south of Netawaka. In 1923 they moved into Netawaka. She is pictured below with grandsons, Henry and Albert.
