Trientje ("Tena") Albers Janssen Osterbur's Obituary  in The Holton Recorder, thursday, July 15, 1926

Mrs. Tina Gerhardt, nee Janssen, was born October 21, 1862 in Strackholt, East Frisia, Germany.  By holy baptism in early infancy she was received into the kingdom of grace and was brought up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, being confirmed on March 8, 1878.  Her life's memory verse, given her at her confirmation are the words Luke 10:42, "One thing is needful, Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."
In 1885 she came to America and resided at Craig, Mo., moving to Rockport, Mo., in 1884 (sic), where she was married to Mr. Albert Gerhardt on March 7, 1888, and returned to live at Craig.  God blessed this union with two sons and two daughters, one of the latter passing away at the tender age of eleven months.
In 1904, Mr. and Mrs. Gerhardt came to Netawaka, settling on a farm southwest of Netawaka, where they lived until 1923, when they retired to live in town.  Here Mrs. Gerhardt took seriously ill on last Friday, and failing, she fell asleep at 7:30 a.m. last Monday, July 12.  This brought her age to 63 years, 8 months and 21 days.
She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Mr. Albert Gerhardt, her sons, Herman and William, of Netawaka, and their wives, and her daughter Erna, and husband, Mr. Ralph Baker of Atchison, three grandchildren, and one brother, John Johann Johnoson (sic) of Beatrice, and one sister still in Germany.
Services were conducted by her pastor, the Rev. H.F. Krohn at 1:30 at the house, and 2 and the church, last Wednesday, the church choir rendering appropriate music.  Interment was made in Netawaka Cemetery.
