* a rain cloud bursting over the
sea and then moving inland. I used to run into the verandah just ahead of the
cloudburst, and watch as the raindrops pelted the roof.
* the mist suddenly blanketing the
sea, rolling up the cliff face, and rolling over the lawn, and into the verandah.
This would suddenly clear, and leave droplets of water on our red table! And we
could see the sea and the fishing boats once more!
* the dolphins jumping out of the
water, especially in the wake of a fishing boat.
* a lapwing getting territorial
about our lawn.
* the sound of the breakers on a
stormy night.
