Vejita As A Girl
Part III
Saying Goodbaye-Kaasan
As Nappa strode through the palace halls, on his way to meet with the King, he wondered what the pieces of paper the princess had given him could say. She had been hard and cold to him her entire life--until today. Today was the first time he had ever seen her cry. She never cried, even as a baby! If she was hurt or didn't get her way, she'd buck up and either hurt who hurt her or blast someone until she did get her way. He chuckled as he remembered the time she totally fried the Lieutenant of the Guard because he would not let her call the men to attention.

The guard parted as the saw their captain approach. Nappa saluted them before opening the huge, red doors leading into the King's Counsel Room. He bowed to the King just as he approached the throne.

"Nappa?! Have you seen Vejita?" The King arose and asked.

"Yes, Sire, I have. She has sent these messages: one for you; one for the Queen; and one for Princess Sarada," he explained as he handed the monarch three sheets of blue paper.

"Did she take the news well?" Nappa knew he couldn't tell the King that his daughter, the future ruler of the Saiyan people, bawled like baby in his arms. The King would be so disappointed in her. 'She's just a kid. Would it be so bad if a little girl cried because she was losing the people she loved?'

"Of course, Your Majesty. She is a Princess of Vegetaseii," he explained. A door in the east side of the room was hurled open, and a group of guards entered the room. They were dressed in red which meant only one thing; the Queen was coming.

"Nappa, is my little girl okay?" She ran in as soon as she caught a glimpse of the Captain of the Royal Guard.

"Yes, Queen Kabocha*," Nappa bowed to the female monarch.*Author's note: Kabocha is Japanese for 'squash,' the yellow vegetable that's so yummy when fried in flour. :)

"Kabo-chan," the King addressed much to the embarrassment of the Queen, " Vejita wrote us letters."

"Letters?" She was puzzled as she took the paper from the King.

"My Queen, I think this is the Princess's way of . . . saying goodbye," Nappa explained as he looked at the floor.

"I see," the Queen noted as she opened up the paper. It read:

Kassan,

You are my mother, and I've never told you this--I love you. There's something in you that I wish to obtain one day; humility. For no Saiyan I've ever met has that quality, except for you. I will never forget the example that you have shown me by living your life the way you have. You make me proud to be your daughter.

Enough with the mushy stuff. I do have one request to ask of you; please make sure that Sarada is taken care of. I know this goes without saying, since you were the one responsible for Tousan's recognition of her in the first place. She means more to me than anyone knows. I don't know why she means so much, but she does.

I know that you've told me that being a Saiyan is more than just loving to fight, but I never understood what you meant by that until today. Today, being a Saiyan meant having to give up everything I love just to keep peace on our planet. The price for that peace will be paid back tenfold. I will return one day and destroy the cancer that is controlling our lives.

I will never forget you.

Vejita

The Queen immediately burst into tears after reading her daughter's heartfelt good-bye. Nappa had to fight back tears as he saw the Queen's display of emotions. Saiyans never cried, but when they did it was for the saddest of reasons. Her little girl was gone-forever.
