Explain It To My Heart
Part VI
"Bra?  Are you home?"  He called out not caring whether or not his brother was home.
"Yes, Gohan, I am," she said as she saw him standing in the doorway.  Bra was very surprised to see him.  He hadn't called or come over since she and Goten announced they were going to be parents.
"We have to talk,"  he walked in without being invited.
"Sure Gohan, come on in,"  She smirked.
"I'm glad to see you can find humor in carrying another man's child.  Let's see how Goten would find it funny," he threatened as he picked up his cell phone.
"As funny as Pan-chan would, I imagine," she quirked right back.  Fear rose in Gohan's throat at the mention of his daughter.  Pan could never know.  She hated her mother enough; he didn't want her hating him too.
"Fine-- point taken,"  he growled not wanting Bra to know he was that afraid of Pan's finding out
"You don't know that this child is your's.  Why are you sure full of yourself?!"  She asked she placed her hands upon her hips, looking very much like her mother.
"Bra, you and Goten have tried forever to have a baby.  I make love to you once, and you turn up pregnant,"  he said, his tone a bit softer.  She really was the most beautiful creature he'd ever seen.  Her blue-green hair cascaded down her shoulders to the tops of her breasts.  Her stomach didn't show the tell-tale signs of being pregnant yet, but he imagined she'd be even more alluring carrying his child.
"Gohan, this baby is Goten's.  I believe it in my heart," she stated clutching a fist to her heart.
"I don't think your heart is telling you that.  Your head is,"  he said as he moved toward her.  He pulled her to him and captured her lips in a fiery kiss.  Bra instinctively buried her hands in his ragged locks as the sensations Gohan's kiss was causing took over her being.
Bra spoke as she broke the kiss, "I can never be yours."
"I know, but that doesn't mean I love you any less."
"I don't want to break your heart, Go-chan," she said as she ran the back ofher hand over his cheek.
"Just let me have a few stolen moments.  That's all I ask."
"But what about Goten?"  She stepped back from him.
"I'm torn apart inside, Bra.  I can't help feeling guilty loving his wife, but I can't deny my heart any longer.  I love you, Bra-- more than I've loved anyone," he admitted as he pulled her close again.
"I love you, Gohan,"  she whispered as he held her tightly.
"Will you see if this baby is mine?"
"But why?"  She looked up at him.
"I just want to know.  I have a right to know.  Don't worry, I would never tell Goten if the baby was mine."
"Okay, I'll have my mother do a DNA test."
"YOUR MOTHER!?  No offense Bra-chan, but she has the biggest mouth in the world."
Bra laughed at him and punched him slightly.  "Silly, she wants to do some DNA tests anyway-- Goten and I are the first half-Saiyans to  . . ."   she trailed off.
"I understand."
"I need some of your blood though-- to compare it to."
"I can do that.  I have a check-up in a few days.  I'll just swipe some of my own blood."
"Gohan, how are you going to do that?"
"Where there's a will; there's a way," he repeated the same words his father had so many years ago.

The next day Tomarotto debated on whether or not to tell his beloved, Pan that her father had an affair with her uncle's wife.  Pan, the love of his life. The woman he wanted to take as his mate.  She was the only brightness on this Kami-forsaken planet he'd found since he'd been wished back by Prince Vegeta.
He loved her so much, but knew that if she discovered Gohan's secret it would
crush her.  How would she react when she found out that he had known and not
told her?  Gohan had told him not to go to the Saiyan Prince with this
revelation, but Vegeta was the only one Tomarotto could think of to talk to.
After all, Vegeta was the only other full-Saiyan on the planet.  Tomarotto took
off for Capsule Corp to find Vegeta and tell him what he had been hiding for so
long.
Vegeta's head snapped up as he finished eating breakfast.  "Vegeta, what is wrong?"  Bulma asked as she noticed his sudden movement.
"Tomarotto's on his way here."
"Good, I'll set another place then," she smiled as she kissed his cheek.  He shooed her away, not wanting the Saiyan warrior seeing the Prince's mate fawn over him so.  A knock came at the door, and Vegeta arose to answer it.
Tomarotto bowed to the Prince and apologized for disturbing his early morning
meal.
"It's alright, Tomarotto.   What is it that you need?"
"Prince Vegeta, I have to talk to you about a matter.  It is of the utmost importance."
"Very well then," Vegeta was just about to tell him they could talk in the gardens when Bulma came up from behind him.
"Good morning, Toma-san!!!  Come in, have breakfast with us!"
"Woman, be quiet!  He is here on important business."  Bulma ignored him and dragged Tomarotto into the house to the breakfast table.  "Why is it that you
have to stick your nose into my business?"
"Would you like some eggs, Toma-san?"  She offered.
"Arigatou, Bulma-sama," he said as she laid a plate full of scrambled eggs before him.
"Are you even listening to me, you baka Human?"
"I have some toast as well," she smiled to the Saiyan warrior.
"That would be great," he said as he looked at Vegeta in bewilderment.
"Bulma!!  Have you heard a word I have said?"  The Prince asked getting angry.
"Yes, of course I have Vegeta-chan.  You think I'm ignoring you, and you're right," she smiled sweetly.  "Toma-san is a guest, and we should treat him accordingly."  Vegeta's blood began to boil, and Tomarotto could feel him going
Super Saiyan.
"Bulma-sama?"  He asked.  Bulma looked up from the toaster and saw the Vegeta was getting riled.  She simply walked over to the Prince as the golden aura was enveloping him and lightly rubbed the nape of his neck.  The contact with her caused him to drop out of Super Saiyan and return to normal.
"Now, see, was that all that important to get so upset over?"  She whispered into his ear before taking the lobe between her teeth.  Tomarotto had turned his
head away, not daring to catch the exchange between Bulma and Vegeta.  Vegeta too, noticed this and didn't feel as embarrassed as he would've been had the Saiyan warrior seen how Bulma calmed him down.
"Fine, Tomarotto, eat!!  I will be out in the gardens when you are finished.
Don't keep me waiting!"  He growled as he flew out the kitchen window.
"He's such a grouch sometimes," Bulma offered an explanation.  "Just thank
Kami you don't have to live with him,"  she laughed.
"Yeah," he said before gobbling down the food.  He could remember how much of a spoiled brat the Prince was when he was a child and how things hadn't really
changed.  Vegeta was somewhat softer than he was back then.  'I guess that's what living with Humans will do for you,' he thought as he watched Bulma pour him a cup of coffee.
"Now, how are you and Pan?  Any wedding bells yet?"  He spat out his eggs as
she placed the cup of coffee to his left.  "Toma-san, I'm sorry.  I didn't mean to"
"It's alright, Princess.  It's just that . . .  Saiyans don't marry."
"Believe me, I know," she said.  She was still a little uncomfortable with his calling her 'Princess,' but after all she was the mate of the last Prince of Saiyans.
"So, you and Prince Vegeta, have never married?"
"No, we haven't.  I guess I don't need a wedding ring to tell me that he loves me.  He's stayed with me, fathered two children with me, if he was going to leave he would've right after Trunks was born."
"He cares about you a great deal.  I can tell."
"You can?!  Could you tell me how you do that?"  She winked at him.

Tomarrotto excused himself from the table after he had finished the breakfast Bulma had forced him to eat and found Vegeta standing in the middle of the gardens.  "Took you long enough, Tomarotto!"  He barked.
"Gomen nasai, Oji-sama.  You know how the Princess is,"  he bowed.
"Yes, I do," he winced as he remembered how Bulma had calmed him from the fit he almost threw.
"I have to tell you something.  It is my duty as a Saiyan soldier."
"Yes," Vegeta said as he turned to face him.
"Your daughter, Princess Bra, is bonded to the eldest son of Kakarrot."
"I knew it!  I knew it!!! I knew that she loved Gohan-- not Goten!"  He spat. "That's not all, Oji-sama," Tomarotto said nervously.
"It isn't?  You mean you bear more horrible news?!"
"Yes, the child that Princess Bra is carrying is very likely to be Gohan's."
"So, my suspicious were correct.  She is bonded to him if she's pregnant.  I've known for sometime now that she and Goten couldn't be bonded.  You know how fertile Saiyans are," he stated.  Tomarotto almost blushed at that thought.  He remembered that he and Pan had never been intimate with one another; Gohan had caught them before they could consummate their relationship.  After that incident, he wanted to wait until he had claimed her as his own before he mated with her.
"I spoke with Gohan about this."
"You did?!  What did he say?"
"He loves Bra."
"But how can he?  I mean, aren't Humans supposed to care about their siblings?!"
"Yes, but he is half-Saiyan, my Prince."
"Still, he is Kakarrot's son-- the Saiyan who grew up Human.  This is most bizarre!"
"Hai, it is," he agreed thinking of how awkward it was to be around Pan knowing
her father was having an affair with the Saiyan Prince's daughter.
"I will not let him ruin Bra's life.  She has chosen Goten for a mate, and that's the choice she's going to stick with!"  The Saiyan Prince fumed and took off for the skies.
"Where are you going, Oji-sama!"
"To Gohan's house!!"  Vegeta bellowed back down to him.

"Tousan, I'm going off to find Tomarotto!"  Pan yelled up to her father who hadn't even gotten out of bed yet.
"Okay, Panny.  See you later!"  He shouted sleepily.  Pan sighed at the fact that her father was still in bed at ten-thirty am-- something that wouldn't be happening had her mother never left.   She ran to the porch and leaped off into the air in search of her boyfriend who had been very distant toward her lately.
'What could be wrong with him?  Am I pushing him too far?  He is a Saiyan, after
all.  Maybe he thinks I want too much of a commitment from him?'  She thought as she soared high into the sky getting lost in the billowy, soft clouds.
Gohan snapped out of his deep slumber when he felt an all too familiar Ki heading toward him; it was Vegeta.  "I bet Tomarotto's told him.  Well, I knew I'd have to face old Vegetable head one day-- might as well be today," He quickly pulled on some jeans and a t-shirt and headed downstairs to the front porch.  When he stepped foot on the porch, he saw Vegeta standing out in the yard looking like he could kill him.
"Good morning, Vegeta-sama!"  He called to the Saiyan Prince.
"I'm not here for a social call, brat!"
"Then what are you here for?"
"You know what I'm here for-- so don't act like you don't!  You've poisoned my
daughter's marriage!"  He spat.
"Vegeta-sama, let me explain something to you.  I love Bra; I have no intentions of breaking her and Goten's marriage up."
"Really?"  Vegeta began to walk toward him.  "Is that why you impregnated her?  So that you wouldn't break up their marriage?!" Uh-oh, the cat was out of the bag.  Gohan knew just who'd let the string loose--  Tomarotto.
"Listen, I never meant for that to happen.  If Videl--"
"Aha!  Videl!  That insipid Human you were married to; are you going to blame
all this on her?"
"I was just going to say that had she not left . . ."
"You never would've taken an interest in Bra?"
"Now see here! I love your daughter!  I only have her best interest at heart!"  Gohan began to power up.
"If you had her best interests in mind; you never would have slept with her!"  He screamed.
"So, I see that Pan's boyfriend has told you."
"Yes, he's a very loyal warrior.  Of course he would've told me!  Are you two going to tell Goten?"
"Never!  We would never crush him like that."
"Haven't you already done that?!  I don't understand what my daughter could've
been thinking!  Just because he doesn't know that his brother slept with his wife, doesn't mean that you haven't already crushed him!"
"Well, oh great one, what do you suggest we do?!"  Gohan said getting angrier and angrier.
"I suggest that you stop seeing my daughter behind her husband's back-- if you
know what's good for you!"
"Is that a threat, Vegeta?!"
"Yes, it is.  I am the Prince of Saiyans, and you are a half-Saiyan."
"So?"
"You will do as I say!"
"You're not my father," Gohan said as he turned to go back inside the house.  He had heard enough from the Prince of Saiyans for today.
"If your father were here; you would not be acting like a dog in heat!"  He barked then turned to fly off from Gohan's home.
"What did you say?!"  Gohan growled low in his throat.  He felt his power slipping much like it did during the Cell Games.  Vegeta stopped dead in his tracks as he felt the younger demi-Saiyan's power level skyrocket.
"Gohan!"  Vegeta exclaimed.
"What do you know about my father?!  What do you know about love?!  You  never loved anyone in your life-- not even Bulma and your children!!"  Gohan screamed as he started to transform into a Super Saiyan.  Vegeta responded in kind.  There was no way Kakarrot's eldest was going to best him on this day.
"I do know this, brat-- you will leave my daughter alone or--"  Vegeta got out before Gohan charged and punched him harder than Cell or Majin Buu ever did.  The Saiyan Prince fell to his knees gasping for air.  "Fine then, if it's a fight you want, little brother," Vegeta sounding much like he did on Namek before cheap-shotting Gohan, "then it is a fight you shall have."
